VIANOVUS®, Unveils it's 'New Way' Educational Grant Program
Provider of Paragon Program Management provides funds to improve
school facilities
Oakland, CA June 4, 2003 VIANOVUS, a leading provider
of program management software for the construction industry announced
today it is launching New Way, an education grant program
that will support the increased need for school funding. VIANOVUS
will donate a portion of its software license sales to qualifying
schools that use VIANOVUS software. Donations are targeted to help
improve school technology labs and libraries. The grants may be
used, at the schools discretion, to fund computer equipment,
facilities, books and staff.
Schools must have the state of the art
technology and current libraries. They are necessary requirements
for todays high-tech learning environment, said Michael
Ciocia, President and CEO of ViaNovus. VIANOVUS has already saved
school districts millions of dollars by helping them to better manage
their construction programs. We have a special interest in
education because we believe it is the best investment we can make
for the future. Our hope is that each grant will be used where the
most students can benefit, said Ciocia. This opportunity is
open to schools purchasing Paragon for the first time or adding
additional licenses. Qualifying institutions include, but are not
limited to, universities, community colleges, high schools, elementary
schools, private and public schools. There is no limit to the size
of the grant or the type of educational facility.
It is unfortunate school budgets
are being affected by our economy, said George Herring, former
Senior Vice Chancellor of Peralta Community College District in
Oakland, California. The contributions being made by VIANOVUS
to help improve schools will be welcomed by schools who are struggling
for funding.
The combination of increased demand
for facilities, funding, and flexibility to design and build projects
creates a unique opportunity for education owners, said Darrell
Garrett, founder and Senior Vice President of ViaNovus. With
this opportunity comes the responsibility of employing management
systems that will allow for accurate progress reporting. The ability
to track expenditures against multiple funding sources is an even
bigger requirement than ever before as the traditional state and
local funding sources are now being used in conjunction with new
sources such as Californias Proposition 47 dollars,
said Garrett. Managing the color of money issues
to make sure that funds are spent on projects for which funds were
allocated can determine whether projects will be completed under
current plans and determine whether new funds will be forthcoming.
Schools have to stretch their
budgets wherever they can, said Bill Savidge, Director of
Facilities Modernization for the Fremont Union High School District.
The VIANOVUS New Way program allows schools to get even more
benefit out of funds that are already committed for necessary construction
and modernization.
Educational institutions interested in benefiting
from this program, or Construction Management firms working with
educational institutions should contact VIANOVUS through their website
at www.vianovus.com or by
