Tasman Light Rail
Corridor Project
The
Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority (VTA) is responsible for
the county's bus and light rail system. ViaNovus designed, implemented,
and currently supports an integrated cost and document control
system for a $328 million light rail expansion program. Construction
for this program includes 7.6 miles of new trackways, 12 new
passenger stations, a new signal system, street improvements,
and new traffic and pedestrian bridges. The integrated system
includes managing program costs, contract changes, budget management,
creating and logging project correspondence, and the implementation
of program-wide document control.
ViaNovus personnel also participated
in the production of monthly program-wide custom cost reports
using the PARAGON Program Management System™. Support services
for this program has also included providing IT services to
assist on-site personnel with desktop, server, network and
remote connectivity issues.
ViaNovus provided technical support to
over 35 cost and project control engineers in both the main
office and construction field office locations. The main office
and construction field offices are connected via a fractional
T-1 line, enabling high speed transfer of all project data.
